Joe's 2nd street bistro
Meet the Team
Executive Chef / Owner - Ricky Pigg
Chef Ricky Pigg is from right here in Fernandina Beach. After graduating from Fernandina Beach High School, Ricky slowly found a passion in food and beverage--which led to him eventually graduating from culinary school at Johnson and Wales University.
After stops in Rhode Island, Charleston, and Atlanta, Ricky settled in Nashville, and that's where he met his lovely wife, Mari. While in Nashville, Ricky also worked as a chef/consultant, helping restaurants restructure their menus. He eventually took over his first restaurant--one of the first go-to spots in the now booming 12 South district of Nashville.
When the chance to move back home and take over Joe's Second Street Bistro opened up in 2012, Ricky and Mari jumped at the opportunity. His creative menu based in local fresh seafood and beef, along with the casual, relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant, has made Joe's a hit with locals and tourists alike.
Operations / Owner - Mari Pigg
While earning her degree from Indiana University, Mari found a love of working with people and a passion to serve. When her family moved to Alabama, she began specializing in training staff in beverage management. Eventually she found her way to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked at some of the city's best restaurants. In the last decade, Mari has studied wines and different growing regions around the world--which led to her becoming a Level 1 Sommelier. She continues to seek out unique wines and liquors to offer her guests at Joe's 2nd Street Bistro.
